In the early hours of September 1, 2011 we had a terrible lightning storm that struck at WGOJ’s tower site. The lightning damaged the FM Transmitter Exciter. We had to overnight the Exciter to Dallas, Texas. It was then fixed and returned to WGOJ. With the help of Cody Stinson, Harold Barnard and the staff of WGOJ we were able to get back on the air Friday evening, September 9th. Thank you for all those who prayed, gave, called and sent notes of encouragement. It is a blessing to hear from others telling us how much WGOJ means to them and how they missed it while it was off the air. These are a couple of the emails that we received during the time we were off the air.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU...
A special thank you goes out to Cody Stinson, Harold Barnard and Ladi Kubickeck Jr. These men went out of their way to help us in a time of need. We praise God for their willingness to serve and help in the ministry of WGOJ. We truly are a family of God working together for the cause of Christ. Many hands make light work and these men did that by helping in whatever area was needed.
RECIPE FROM WGOJ
Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins - Irene Johnson:1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1/2 cup of sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup of chopped nuts
Combine ingredients. Fill muffin pan 3/4 full each. Sprinkle 1 t. nuts over each muffin. Bake at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes.
MESSAGE FROM PASTOR’S CORNER
WGOJ has had a great summer with many blessings. The Porch project has been started and all is paid with that. WGOJ has gone global with web streaming and every thing that we needed to get that started has been paid as well. The lightning damage to the FM Transmitter Exciter and other expenses from it are all paid. We serve a Great and Mighty God!
We are so thankful for the three weeks that Cody Stinson came and served WGOJ. Much was accomplished in those weeks from updating equipment to organizing and web streaming. Cody showed us by his willing servant’s heart what being a Missionary is all about.
WEB STREAMING
How we have prayed and talked about the time when we could have WGOJ web streaming live over the internet. Now, we can say that WGOJ can reach around the world proclaiming the Wonderful Grace Of Jesus.Cody Stinson a missionary to Christian radio around the world came and helped us reach this goal of web streaming WGOJ. We did not have to go into debt and all expenses to get the radio streaming have been paid. Once again, we can see God’s plan, His provision and His protection through it all.
It makes us think of that old song. “...Through it all I’ve learned to trust in Jesus and I’ve learned to trust in God. Through it all I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.”
SHAR-A-THON
As we enjoy these summer months please remember that before we know it, it will be time for the WGOJ shar-a-thon. The shar-a-thon will be held November 10-12, 2011.Please think about what you could do for the ministry through crafts, baskets, bake goods, new items, etc. that could then be sold during the shar-a-thon to help generate money for WGOJ. If you have any thoughts or ideas that you think would help during the shar-a-thon please feel free to let us know, thank you.
GOD'S PLAN FOR SALVATION
1. All have sinned.“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Rom. 3:23).
2. There is a payment for sin.
“For the wages of sin is death;…” (Rom. 6:23).
3.The finality of death is hell.
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Rev. 2:14).
4. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, paid our debt.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).
5. You can be saved today.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13).
